M83 - America

For those of you who don't have this album from these incredible and creative french folks, here's some incentive. With the right mixture of noise, texture and beats, this is a great song. I don't know what it has to do with America. As far as I can tell the dialogue in the background is some woman washing a child in a bathtub, but I could be totally wrong.

Abel Ramirez - I Have Only One

Several years ago I used to record under the name Abel Ramirez, and this track is taken from his "Off the Record" album. The whole thing was a joke to convince people that bad music was good. This was probably recorded in the summer of 2000, and the vocals are so high pitched because I was using this shitty fostex 4-track with a very unreliable motor. There was actually a video to go along with the song that focused on my friend Adam furiously stacking pillows into a fort in his living room. I probably won't post Abel tracks very often, but I thought this one was funny.

Comments

m83 is fucking awesome - i got a copy of the album on vinyl at kim's for cheap (the cd is still import only and cost more than the wax) - that song has to be played really loud for the biggest impact though, seriously, their 'wall of sound' style really works better loud

ha ha - one testicle
