everyone needs a hybrid for a pillow
ages ago I posted this track briefly, but I want to share this with the community at large now. the Pillows have been cranking out ahead-of-the-curve J-poprock for over 13 years, and though they've somehow missed the success that more sugary groups like Mr. Children and Thee Michele Gun Elephant have found over there, they've got a much more solid sound than anything else you'll find in the mainstream section of any Shinjuku CD shop. this track has it all, from the typically melodic J-rock intro to the blasting guitar to the obligatory nonsense engrish chorus ("can you fee[r] it hybrid rainbow"). it's one of the best songs I've heard in a genre that, despite being more appealing and well made than the american equivalent (like anything else in Japan), is ultimately still way sugary and somewhat thin.
