one of these just isn't the same

back with a vengence, today i'm pairing a nasty electro song with a dirty funk song:

"How We Do (Gothic Robot Mix)" by Mount Sims - this comes from a funny little remix 7" - the original song is one of my favs from last year (or is it older than that?), and i really like this particular remix (the other side has a Tommie Sunshine mix), mostly for the filthy analog-synth bass that kicks up a couple notches at around 2:20.

and

"Tra La La" by The "Great" Deltas - this 7" comes from the Funk45 label, based in the UK - this is an old rarity that got the re-issue treatment, and thank goodness because damn it, this song is so funky it is genuinely deadly... the breakdown is awesome.

Just found you via Fluxblog.

I just started adding music downloads to my own site - not an MP3 blog but just a regular blog with MP3s. I'm sure you already have the Logan's Sanctuary stuff but I posted it up today just before reading of your love of seventies pop and The Virgin Suicides.

I'll be back...

The melody in Tra La La is the same as in one of Hendrix's songs... namely Power of Soul.
"IT'S SO GROOVY TO FLOAT AROUND SOMETIMES
EVEN A JELLY FISH WILL TELL YOU THAT"
Ahh the 70's. You had to be there I suppose.
