Come on down..

This is my first contribution to Robots – hello everyone. I wanted to start a few weeks ago when I had seen Savath & Savalas play with Juana Molina in Philadelphia, but since I was so disappointed with the performances and have been so tied up with work I wasn’t really feeling up to it. At the time I wanted to post some recorded S&S songs that I really enjoy, but also didn’t want to give them a shitty review and tell people not to see them in their successive tour dates.
And so today I will spread the word on another show; one which I will be missing tonight unfortunately. Here’s my shout out to Sean Agnew, a good guy doing good work for the good people of Philly. Tonight’s R5 show at Vox Populi hosts Flaherty & Corsano (members of Sunburned Hand of Man and Kuyo Butai). These two guys really champion the best in new improvisational music, and so this is something to be seen/heard live, but I’ve included the clips Hat City Fire Truck and Rut One for a taste. Also on the bill is Philadelphia resident Jack Rose, an excellent finger-picking guitarist with a more bluesy sound - Linden Avenue Stomp.
Hopefully I can get out soon to a show to actually review it and then throw up some tracks that way. TV on the Radio are playing at the Unitarian Church this Wednesday and Madlib with RJD2 on Friday. So if I’m not on the road with work, look for a review or two, but with so many TVOTR songs up online and since JP just posted the RJD2 track I may not feel so compelled to post any. We shall see.

Welcome to the party jon!

Solid post. Love the acoustic, bluesy number. Not so hot on the improv stuff, but you can't please everybody.

Keep up the good work.
