they might be themselves
Jeff beat me to posting a Cloudead track. however, keeping on the anticon tip:
Themselves are DoseOne and Jel, currently parked on the Anticon label alongside other winning groups like the Notwist (who do a remix of a Themselves on the Themselves remix album out last year). This is from their second album, the No Music, which followed their debut self-titled CD "Them" (before they changed their name slightly). the lyrics are insane, and surprisingly fluid despite how abstract they tend to be, and the production is incredibly tight. I'd also like to add that I saw Themselves open for the Notwist at the Bowery Ballroom, which might be one of the best live shows I've ever seen. the Notwist were excellent, but when you listen to this track, keep this in mind: every note you hear, every sample, every bassline was recreated live when I saw them. they had three stations with MPC's, Dr. Samples, a couple Korgs, FX and Kaos pads - I've never seen anyone work that hard onstage and have it sound that good. from seeing how lame other electronic acts are onstage (Prefuse 73, Manitoba, Fourtet, the Faint) with respect to actually playing their music rather than pressing play, it was really awe-inspiring. their tracks are by no means simple, and they sounded as good if not better onstage as they did on the album.
