the rock has entered the building

here's a great band, The Subjects, and they bring the rock with two songs:
first "Silver" -- this particular song kills me - the awesome drums, the great sonic builds, the vocal delivery, and man, i tell you, the melody is so great too...
and "Lonely You" -- this one is classic, balls to the wall garage rock.. with songs like these two, i see these guys going places, for real. they're up and coming, they're unsigned and working on their demo, so definitely stay tuned for more of them - check out their site for some more information and awesome photographs of the band.

This music is beautiful, moving, and relentless.
And, best of all, it's deeply un-frivolous: this music sounds as if it *had* to be made.

"There are neither maps nor exercises to help us find the duende. We only know that he burns the blood like a poultice of broken glass, that he exhausts, that he rejects all the sweet geometry we have learned, that he smashes styles, that he leans on human pain with no consolation." --Federico Garcia Lorca

Great voice, sounds like the geezer from the Walkmen (I was going to say Jeff Buckley but I might have had too much Prozac).

They're linking back at you. Hope there's no conflict of interest tainting your journalistic integrity.
