Going back to the start

I know we've all heard this song to death, but I really like this version of Coldplay's The Scientist, performed by Aimee Mann. There's something both refreshing for both the song (which is by far my favorite from A Rush of Blood to the Head) and for Aimee Mann, who I think stumbled a bit on her last album. I love this song, because it's almost surprising it hasn't been written before; it's so simple and can kill you on the right (or wrong?) day. I also give kudos to Mann for taking such a recent radio hit and making it work so well.
This is available on the almighty iTunes and on the bonus disc of Lost In Space.

I second that. Thanks, david. Mann does the song beautiful justice.

When I first started listening to it, I was talking to a friend about it over MSN. The conversation went something like this.
"it's okay, not too different or anything"
"ah, actually it's pretty good when it gets going"
"check that, it's really good"

Thanks!

Hey thanks--I've been looking for an mp3 of that for months!

I love Aimee Mann's first two albums, and the Magnolia soundtrack. Never really gave Lost In Space a fair listen. Thanks for this cover!
