Eric B & Rakim - I Know You Got Soul (Arc000 remix)

this is a strange record, but it's one of the best house remix 12" I heard last year. Arc records, which is supposedly a very unofficial offshoot of Warp records, released this whitelabel with a Prince remix on one side (also incredible) and this track on the other. no fanfare, no press, hell, no track listings. just a stamp that says "ARC000" and two kickass tracks. [buy it]

I did a similar sounding Blackalicious remix a year or so ago. It's fun re-working vocals to a new tempo..

Make You Feel That Way (grr Mix)

FWIW, all the Arc records are pretty fantastic.

The label is actually called Arcola. My favourite releases are those by Dub Kult, Louis Digital and Brothomstates.

Veeeery nice.

Brothomstates are apparently responsible for both mixes. Any possibility of a posting of the Prince side?

There was a sweet white label mashup of this rap with the General Midi breakbeat track The Westerner.
