Find a party you can ruin

Jens Lekman

It's Friday! Go to a party! Hang out! Then, ruin the party and feel bad about on the ride home. Aw. This is apparently what Scandinavian wunderkind (no, the other Scandinavian wunderkind) Jens Lekman did, because he wrote a song about it called Black Cab. He's clearly been listening to a whole lot of Magnetic Fields records.

I really like the lyrics - they're spare at times, but hilarious and sad simultaneously. Plus, how can you beat that intro?
The song is from the Maple Leaves EP, which you can buy here. I recommend it.

YEAH IT'S JENS LEKMAN! Sure he does sound like Stephen Merritt, but he is NOT trying to rip off his writting style. I found a great live track by Jens called "bom babom" that as far as I know hasn't been published. The first line is "oh I still remember Regulate with Warren G, it was big back in the sumer of 1993." That's about as good as it gets for me.

Oh no! There's something wrong with your DJ'ing. I'm glad you like the track, though.
