Eat it while it's free!

Feel Like Breaking Shit

A while back I posted a cover by the band Self that met with some applause, so I thought this might be appreciated: they have four EP's that are available for free download on one of their websites! Not to mention tons of great other stuff.

There might be a bunch to wade through for people who don't know them as well as their 58 fans do (myself included), so here's some starting points: get all of Feels Like Breakin' Shit (take that, Bizkit) which includes some stellar covers and twists on classic songs, such as Titanic (to the Pixies Gigantic), Prince's Let's Pretend We're Married, Dizzy (an old tune whose original author I don't know offhand), and so on. In truth, all 17 tracks are golden. especially a musical kick to the throat of everyone's least favorite Canadienne. Ahem.

After that, go and grab the rest. then go get some of their albums - those boys work hard. And they love you, even if you don't know it [show them some love].

Ya know-- I went to look that up (I had a vague recollection of it being Tommy somebody) at www.allmusic.com -- turns out they have a redesign that doesn't work with firefox. Shitty.

Oh well.

Great Self tracks though, makes for good workin' music.
