chamber music anyone?

quickie (work sucks - its so busy i won't have much time to post this week):

"Welcome Mat" by Viva Voce -- there's something both devastating and really really 'pretty guitar pop' going on here, and i'm still trying to wrap my head around it. it comes courtesey of the Asthmatic Kitty label (home of Sufjan Steven, among many talented others) - this is from a split compilation with Sounds Are Active, that i got in the mail from a friend yesterday, along with a new cd by Xn. (which you'll be hearing some of sooner or later, hopefully this week) - go to the VV website and click on the 'stuff' section to buy their cd direct from them or buy it here.
word.
[ed: samples of the new album, including a few full tracks, are streaming on their site, and its wicked eff'ing good!]

hey yeah - this tune is indeed the shit. It's on their new record, but it's been retitled "They Never Really Wake Up". I guess to reflect the lyrics? A damn good song.
