and then i saw the blood coming...

i've been way too easy on you guys. time for a little death metal.

Eternal Gates of Hell and The Balance Theory are two tracks from Dead to Fall. (both available for free on their website).

it's good stuff if you like aggressive music. they're somewhere in between scandinavian melodic death metal and american hardcore. like a cross between hatebreed and the haunted. melodic guitar lines mixed with crazy hardcore breaks. the production has kind of a hollow sound that i found off-putting at first, but now i rather like it.

i first heard them at hellfest 2003. they were on the 3rd stage, which was a big mistake; the crowd they drew was larger and more enthusiastic than most of the mainstage bands. i only saw the last couple songs of their set (and then only barely through the crowd) but it was impressive enough that i immediately ran to the merch tent and picked up a copy of their album Everything I Touch Falls to Pieces, which has spent a good amount of time on my playlist ever since.
