Leave Me Without A Bark

Without a Bark

Enik - Micro Ocean Enik - Diamond City

Describing Enik, who comes to us via Wonder Records/ Kompakt/ Forced Exposure, is one of those impossible tasks. I mean, the easiest thing to say is that it's like Tom Waits jamming with Trent Reznor at the Moulin Rouge, but I don't think Industrial Cabaret is going to give you the right idea, since it's not like the Dresden Dolls or anything. I hear a little Cure in there, and some other elements as well. Clearly, Enik is his own thing, and worth paying attention to.

It's whimsical, but there are also some great beats-- there's a reason it's on Kompakt. On first listen you might not know what to make of it, but I promise it'll grow on you. Both of these songs come from the Without A Bark EP [Buy It]. You can also find a download of the song "Taxi" at Enik's site.

anyone who thinks enik is not very great, really needs to sit back and ask themselves what they expect from an artist. and i want to ask such critics what they have contributed to the world, other than their opinions.
