"The River" and "Blaue Fäden" by März -- März is Albrecht Kunze and Ekkehard Ehlers, a pair of Berliners who make pretty, clicky pop-house music together - in fact, the more I've listenend to these songs, I think they comes close to folk music, but re-imagined through a Kompakt filter... On their own they've both released some solid works, Kunze on the seminal Disko B label; Ehlers also works as Auch and Betreib and has released work on Mille Plateaux and Force Inc.

Their work together has been released by the Berlin label, Karaoke Kalk, including these tracks, that are available on 10" (my personal favorite vinyl format - heavier than a 7" but easier to move than 12"s) - these songs are also available on their new full length CD Wir Sind Hier, which comes out on the 25th of this month.
Do check out their site, because it not only is the graphic look of it amazing, but the links send you out all over the web, from Brian Wilson's site, discussions of Cassavettes, hard drive data-recovery services, Apple, a German AIDS research group, a number of visual artists, and the "Golden Record" the Voyager space probe carries with it out into deep space... wacky.

Anyway, if you like this stuff, i reccomend that you buy their first album, Love Streams here, and I'm sure the new one will also be available there in a few weeks or so.
Happy Friday!
