major shout

this isn't becoming a pattern, I swear. but here's another side of indie rock to soothe your mid-friday jitters:

Minor - Weekend for Nothing
Minor - Cadillacs
Minor - Be There

Minor is a side project of Jacob Feinberg [e-mail him for more info], who plays with Than in one of his many bands. his music is sweet, dark indie, that gives you both the rainy-sunday-comfort feeling of the late Elliot Smith's sound and a slightly more upbeat but still relaxed sound (compare the first track posted above to the second two and you'll see what I mean). there's trace elements of poppy drums in there, but never overdone. just a sprinkle for the hint of flavor.

there's no album listed yet, and the website is very minimal (and semi-functional in places), but it sounds promising. if nothing else, it'll take off those feeling of anxiety as you watch the clock creep towards weekend time.

and with that, I'm off to Baltimore for the weekend. perhaps I'll bring back some of that wretched B-more house I grew up passively absorbing. Cashmere, anyone?

This surprised me...I almost skipped over your entry today, being really busy, but hesitated and clicked on the first song and wow. Very nice. There's a bit of Ed Harcourt in there (at his best). Very unexpected.
