Looking For the World to Crumble Down

Other Passengers - in the belly. Promising bands come out of New York City all the time. It's nothing new, and most of the folks in the heartland working their asses off are probably sick of it, as are folks on the shimmering west coast. However, good music is good music regardless of location, so it is without prejudice that I blow sunshine up the ass of NYC's Other Passengers.

I've heard several comparisons for this young band -- everything from the Jesus & Mary Chain, to Joy Division. You get the idea. Gloomy, urban, dark rock music with creative guitar lines, metronomic drum hits and atmospheric feedback elements.

This track comes off of the bands debut EP is it nothing to you, all those who pass by? [Buy It] . The four song EP runs you only six dollars, and it's worth it. A couple of the songs stretch past the 6 minute mark, and there's easily 20 minutes of music on the whole thing. It's truly one of the most promising EPs that I've heard in quite some time.

I also hear that their live show is equally incredible. You can see for yourself when they play at Sin-e in NYC on the 11th of November. You can find tickets on the band's site, as well as an mp3 of a demo that's really good as well.
