and the Double Dutch is Go!

could they be any cooler?

Hot off the Memphis Industries presses comes this rediculously hot super-8 video for the new Go! Team single, "Ladyflash", available November 22nd in the UK, and its backed by a remix by none other than Hot Chip.

That's hot shit that is... buy your hot-wax 7" copy here.

And yes, just to lay any doubts to rest, the Go! Team's Thunder, Lightning, Strike album is very high on my 'top-ten of 2004' list indeed.

***UPDATE***
Click Here to download Thunder, Lightning Strike from iTunes. They also have the Power is On EP, the Junior Kickstart EP, and the Memphis Sampler from which Ladyflash comes. Download away, kids. All of these releases are worth owning.

Basically - yes. As far as I know the album isn't out in the states yet. I think it's import only, right? So none of the online retailers are carrying it, aside from the memphis store. But if you buy the Go Team album (which you totally should), you get any other memphis album at half price.

The Go! Team album, as well as the singles for Junior Kickstart and The Power Is On, are available on the US iTunes Music Store...

What is/are the B-side(s) for the Ladyflash single, btw?

Hmm. I wanted to like this more, but no good for me I think (thought the sample is Nancy & Lee's Down from Dover, which is my ninth favorite song ever). Kinda goes nowhere, unlike the original. Here's a link to the Dolly (who wrote the song) version:

And why the double dutch footage? I don't get it.

I wish the music and vocals weren't so repetitive, it just doesn't seem to take me anywhere. I looove the way they blend all those fun sounds together though, I'm always so excited for the first minute of the songs. They totally need to be remixed!

I bought Thunder Lightning Strike at HMV downtown Toronto. It had a Fusion Distribution sticker on it.

i really like the album.
real wall of sound on a lot of the songs. i think their style is quite unique. would be a good show.
the double dutch kinda fits into their pep rally/high school image. maybe.

Delighted to see The Go! Team being picked up on, been into them for about a year now. I understand the album is getting a US release next year. There's actually an older version of Ladyflash (which I prefer) available on the Memphis label sampler Estuary English that's even dirtier sounding - this cheap compilation is well worth picking up as nearly all the acts on Memphis Industries are well worth checking out (Broadway Project, J Xaverre & Blue States being the most notable). I hear they record and then re-record through a guitar amp to get that f'd up sound. Oh yeh, and they kick it live.

Check www.thegoteam.co.uk for more details (some links on there to interviews etc)
