Sickboy

So here I present my idea of mellow head-cold music. Soft beats, soft melodies. Brothomstates is a WARP guy, who seems to have been fairly prolific if you check out his site and discography. I like the gentle sound he rocks on this track, which comes from his album, Claro. The album as a whole has a similar feel - delicacy of tone and melody, but like most of the best WARPers, there's still bits of bobs of noise and broken tones.
Twig Bud on the other hand appears on the MoWax Excursions album, a mid-late-90s slice of leftfield Trip-Hop (They also released a handful of these tracks as 12"s) - I'd call most of the album sort of experimental sounding, as it doesn't really jive with the earlier of MW catalog, its more like the second half of Headz 2B: drum 'n' bass, but chilled out, and quirky beat-driven stuff, like Innerzone Orchestra or Carl Craig's post-techno experimentalism. Anyway, I dig this song for its low-end.
Both of these songs sound best while lying in bed with headphones on, which I will be doing all day tomorrow, hopefully anyway.
If you're curious about Brothomstates, buy it at insound!. If you're curious about more of the MoWax Excursions album... well, check your local indie music retailer's used bin - it wasn't a terribly popular CD because it didn't sound like anything else MoWax put out, though it should be since there's a second disc that's a cool MoWax megamix (including rare Shadow stuff) - or you can pick up a bunch of the 12"s on Gemm.com.
