Dancing with Myself

buzzzzzzz
"Happiness (M. Mayer Mix)" by Superpitcher -- Remember, a week or so back, when I said I had some amazing vinyl I was all excited to post from... Well, if this don't just beat all. Seriously, this is one of the best techno remixes of an already hard to beat song. The original, from Superpitcher's Here Comes Love album, is delicate, but still powerful. M. Mayer, meaning Michael Mayer, brings the new vicious synths and deep bottom-end right up to the top of the mix here, including a rediculous breakdown near the end of the track.

This song kills, I mean KILLS, on the dancefloor. Do yourself justice and play this at max volume and let your walls, your furniture, and your neighbors buzz along with your insides.

This single is worth owning, not only for the incredible sound quality (seriously, Kompakt is among the best in hi-fi vinyl), but for the awesome B-side mix by Lawrence - I don't know that much about him, but he has released his own work on Ladomat 2000, Ghostly International, and Kompakt among others - the mix isn't as heavily tech as Mayer's is, but the depth and beauty he covers in his version is really something. Pick up the 12" from Kompakt, and also, if you haven't already, get Here Comes Love at Insound (and remember we still get 10% off of all purchases at Insound through December 12, just put in "Robot Music" at checkout).

Comments

I wasn't really sure until the bassline rolls in at 2:40 or so.

Yeah.
