Giant Drag - This Isn't It How could I possibly be posting about the LA music scene and not talk about Giant Drag? I mean, what would LA be without Annie Hardy? I posted their cover of "God Only Knows" back when the site was in its infancy, but the drag have come quite a way since then. Annie is one of those crazy skinny front-women that looks bored to tears during her set, but she somehow comes off as achingly sexy.

The band makes an incredible amount of noise for just two people. And while this track here seems like somewhat traditional indie rock, the rest of their set can be quite challenging. It's too bad they're not touring right now, since everyone needs to see these guys at least once. "This Isn't It" leads off their latest EP Lemona, which you can pick up from our friends at Parasol.

Changing the subject entirely, I'll go on the record to say that I'm not hearing enough noise about the latest Cam'Ron album. Maybe I'm just not running in the right circles or something, but this album is bananas and I'd like to hear a few less words about the Arcade Fire and a few more about Juelz Santana and the rest of the Diplomats. Purple Haze has got everything you'd want on there... floor filling bangers, soul searching ballads, hottt production, introspective thinking-man's lyrics, and the downhome misogyny that you come to expect from the Dip Set. It's ridiculously good. Anyway, go check out his site up there and stream a few tracks. I'm not about to post anything off Rocafella, but whatevs, you guys know where to find this stuff.
