As promised, it is back to freezing in DC. But Bruce Ruffin's version of Oh Child should make us all feel warm and cozy. There's no doubt this song is a little syrupy, but I like to the think the reggae funkifies it enough to cut the treacle.

This track is from Trojan Records' box set Soulful Reggae . You can get it here at Insound. You can't go wrong with these and the value for the money is just ridiculous. And I'm partial to these soul covers for parties since you get to drop something different, but recognizable. Everyone can sing along but the guys drinking red stripe or high life can nod their heads too.
