I like your Form

bassbin-rumbler
"Forms and shapes" by Sascha Funke

Awesomeness here, no? I love a bit of buzzy techno when I'm walking around the city, especially at night - the lights of cars, people's windows, flashes of televisions, and (when in Brooklyn anyway) the stars overhead. Its like a mobile nightclub.

This track comes courtesey of German tech stalwart Sascha Funke, who's releases and remixes are all over the BPitch Control, Kompakt and Ladomat labels. It comes off the BPitch Camping compilation, which collects 20 or so of their best releases from their catalog of 101 (always a good number to work towards - ie: Kompakt beat them to it by a few months). There's tons of really awesome tracks on the cd, including Ellen Allien (some of her older stuff is available here and totally awesome), Feadz ("LT Replay" kills it!), Kiki, Sylvie Marks & Hal 9000 - Its solid all throughout. Do yourself a favor and buy the cd here or here (its at the bottom of the page).

This particular robot loves the feeling of room-shaking buzzing bassbins - if you were at APT the other night, some of the bassbin highlights came courtesey of Black Strobe and Teifschwarz - but there's also something to be said for Funke's combination of a slightly-sweet pop-vocal working with said bass. Turn it up loud and make your neighbors wonder what the hell you're listening to.

I have to go get some sleep - till next time, keep your techno on!
