Modular People Coming to America

Two of our absolute favorite bands are finally coming to America this spring, and we're proud to announce the tour dates. Wolfmother and Cut Copy will finally grace America's shores, and I say it's about damn time!

Wolfmother is fucking bad ass
Wolfmother - Dimension

As I've said before, there is no irony in wolfmother. Though they fall into the same category as the great Zepplin/Sabbath stoner rock bands, this shit is too damn good to just be mimicry, or a lazy genre exercise. I think that these lads in Wolfmother believe that what they're doing is right. From the immense and pounding drums to the perfectly amped rhythm guitar to the weird wind-whistle noises -- it's all there. It's sludgy and dark and thick. I can only imagine what this will sound like live.

You can buy Wolfmother's EP from the Modular Store, or your local retailer.

As for Cut Copy, they're one of those great bands that so artfully treads the line between rock and dance. As a band with this much electronic influence, Cut Copy probably owe more to New Order than Daft Punk (from whom they crib much of their sound. The whole album is just incredible -- listenable and danceable all the way through. Everyone needs to a find a way to get to these shows.

You can pick up their awesome album Bright Like Neon Love from our friends at insound.

And here is the full list of tour dates. I'm sure these shows will sell out early, so get on it. There's no telling when they'll be back.

Comments

dear Modular chaps:

I hate myself dearly for agreeing to be out of town and miss the NYC show... please forgive, and come back soon.

love, robot jp.

seriously everyone, this show is going to be a total stunner - both of these albums are absolutely incredible. Cut Copy's BLNL was in my top 5 for 2004. highly, strongly, madly, deeply recommended.

That's not a problem JP, with any luck they'll all be back there before too long anyway.

Living in Australia rules sometimes. I've seen Wolfmother 4 times and Cut Copy twice. Everyone heading to any of the shows are in for a treat.

I was going to write something about Cut Copy this week. I'm going to try and catch their show in Nottingham (Tonight) - I love The Bright Neon Love LP. They really do sound a lot like New Order.
