mike patton will eat your soul

if you liked the Mike Patton + Subtle stuff that jP posted or, like me, you just think that Mike Patton is a genius who farts perfume and shits roses, you might also be interested in this little nugget. Patton did an EP a while back with the metal band the Dillinger Escape Plan called "Irony Is a Dead Scene". man, is it good. DEP are awesome in their own right and Patton's voice fits in so perfectly that there must have been some kind of seperated at birth kind of thing going on. DEP + MP is probably the only MP collaboration where he wasn't the weird one (well, ok, maybe Zorn is weirder). compared to DEP's other albums, "Irony is a Dead Scene" is quite straightforward and accessible.

so here's their version of "Come To Daddy". yes, the Aphex Twin song.

Seriously, I love that album. One time, while playing that song in my car, I had to turn it off because it was scaring the person I was with.

We no longer talk. ;P

"When Good Dogs Do Bad Things" from that EP was my favourite song of 2002. so much crunch. it's availble at the epitaph site

Awesome. That is a seriously angry cover! I reckon it's still only about one third as evil as the original though.
