Time Agrees to Slow Down For Hours

Books: Lost and Safe
The Books - An Owl With Knees (file removed at request of artist).

Travis: I think there's something I need to make clear about my fenced-in area. You see... everybody in Gilbert County's got a damn fenced-in area that's cluttered with crap and brown weeds invading them like a cancer! Well, see, I'm better than that. I'm gonna make my fenced-in area an area that's neat and special, with a special purpose. And then all the nayayers will have to say, "Dammit! He really did something with his fenced-in area, and now I feel inspired to clean up my own fenced-in area!" And others will see my fenced-in area, and inspiration will go on and on and on, from person to person, just like that!

I want my fenced-in area to be an inspiration. And, if y'all can't understand that, then I was born in the wrong world.

Momma: Oh, my God, honey! I'm so proud of you!

Pastor Moore: God bless you, and your fenced-in area.

You can preview more of the The Books upcoming Lost and Safe LP at the band's site. The album will be released on April 5th, and it will be one of the best of the year. You can preorder the album from our friends at insound.

A really good band is Collapse Under Eyes, not many people know them and they are really good. Their site is www.collapseundereyes.com and if u go to the media section you can download or listen to some of their songs. They are a very good group to listen to.

Please don't pimp bands in the comment box. If you would like, you can send us an e-mail about a band. We like to keep comments relevant to the post. Thanks!

I always liked the books, seems like I will keep doing so. What's wrong with mentioning a band that may be similar to what you posted? Anyway, don't want to get a debate going - their 'The Lemon of Pink' is a great album, check it out too. Thanks for the track.

Jason- I don't think it's ametter of mentioning a band similar to what's posted as it is that Kelly didn't relate this in any way to The Books, just started rambling completely off-topic.

But, yeah, this song is really, really good.

Didn't Notwist do this better? I mean I like the track, but...

I think the song had a great introductions and conclusion. I enjoyed it. The vocals pulled me in, let go, and pulled back in.

Ok, I need more of this band's music, but money's a bit limited right now, so I can only buy one album. Any recommendations as to which one I should get?

love the books -- any similarity to, say, notwist is a result of convergent evolution...books have a unique approach, i think. and nick z. is a great and friendly guy. wish them heaps of success. i'd rec 'lemon of pink' as a purchase, but that's mostly becuz it was my first exp.
