Bloc Party Tickets in DC
OK kids, here's the deal. I've got two extra tickets to the Bloc Party show at the Black Cat in DC this Saturday (April 9). My friend Jupiter and I want to share these with some sorry robot out there, so we're going to have a little fun giving them away. This isn't some kind of official contest by any means. I bought these tickets myself. NO transportation or accommodation included! NO refund if the show is cancelled or postponed! You just get to show up with a friend at the Bloc Party concert at the Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW) at an agreed upon time, I'll give you two tickets and maybe you buy me a drink. (Sorry folks, but to keep things simple, I'm making this 21+)
So to prove your worthiness, you must answer the following five questions and send us a picture of yourself either looking so cool it's lame, or so lame it's cool (high school yearbook photos are encouraged, but if you can't get ahold of one, show us your clothed-rockstar best--we will probably post the winning photo on the site). One person will be picked by us to receive the two tickets--again, you've got to get your own ass to the Black Cat, on time, if you can't do that easily, too bad--don't enter, cause I'm not missing the show for you.
Here are the questions, send answers to "robotdave99@hotmail.com" by midnight (ET) Friday (April 8).
1. How many rock stars have you slept with (other than Carlos D)?
2. Which Pop Star do you believe in your heart is really talented and just misunderstood?
3. Name a band name that's worse than Bloc Party?
4. Describe something you were doing way before it was cool.
5. Describe something you're doing now that isn't cool yet, but like, totally will be in six months.
Bonus--send us a photo of you being a ridiculous hipster. If you can send us an old yearbook photo of yourself looking so cool it's lame, or so lame it's cool, we'll consider that major bonus points. Be creative. Everyone please include a phone number you can be reached at on Saturday so we can arrange a time to meet.
Winning entry based on the completely biased opinions of the Robots. Again, this is not an official contest and has absolutely nothing to do with the band Bloc Party or any of their agents, nor Black Cat or any of their agents--they are in no way sanctioning this--IT'S NOT A CONTEST, this is just me being a semi-nice guy and offering to share my extra tickets with some Robot readers. If I flake or get hit by a bus you're screwed because the tickets aren't in your name at the front. Please don't reply if you don't live close enough to DC to get here easily (Poor Philly folks who didn't get a show this week may enter if they can get themselves here and back). I reserve the right to cancel this deal if Bob Mould or the bassist from Washington Social Club ask me if they can have the tickets instead, or if I eat too many cheese fries at Ben's Chili Bowl and fall over dead. Don't offer to buy these tickets from me, I ain't selling, I'm giving them away to whoever I feel like.
