Enough Of All These Tears

Hoo boy. Where to begin. Well, there's this new record coming out on Monika, and it's called 4 Women No Cry. It's got these four ladies on it, from all over the world, making beautiful electronic-influenced music. It's absolutely gorgeous, all the way through. Even our boy Jimmy Tamborello says "it's my favorite record in a long time. I love almost every song." And I agree.
Rosario Blefari is from Argentina. I believe the song is about separating and renunciating... like breaking things off for good. But I could way off. All I know if that I love the reverbed snare, the throbbing noises, the delicately plucked strings, and not to mention her beautifull, fragile voice. There's also this rising din in the background, hovering just off to the right that just heigthens the mystery and tension. Solid work.
Parisian Eglantine Gouzy is my favorite on the record. Her music is so sparse it's ridiculous. I have no idea who she is, but I think she's also a fashion designer/artist. Regardless, this track just kills me. It's so simple. At first you'd think that someone sampled her voice from an instructional record, but it's just her way. I wish I knew what she was talking about, but that might ruin the intrigue. Sigh.
There are two other women as well -- Tusia Beridze from Georgia (in Eastern Europe) and Catarina Pratter who hails from Austria. Both are equally as excellent. Unfortunately for you, this record doesn't come out until June 7th, and will be distributed by our friends at Forced Exposure, so keep a look out. And we'll keep you posted. This record is just excellent. Highly recommended.
