Rhymes for honeys & beats for boys

I've posted about David Garza before, and the man's been up to quite a bit since then, including a four-CD set. He's back, with a considerably smaller number of songs: a five-song EP called Oh Dread. You can download the whole thing, artwork and all, for free (!) on his website.
Though I don't know all of his work, I don't remember Garza rapping before, and that's what he's doing here. If you had said to me, "Have you heard the new David Garza EP? He raps on it!", I would have said, "Well, that sounds terrible!" because, really, who expected that? But it actually works, and the man's a great enough songwriter (and has a great enough producer) that it all goes wonderfully.
My favorite track from the EP is probably
because of its momentum, and because of Garza's warble moving it along.
For those of you in the LA area, you can often catch Garza at the almighty Largo (where, incidentally, you can catch Jon Brion's live show every Friday ... just wanted to make sure I mention Jon Brion in every post).
