Monkey Travelling Party

What follows is a conversation with a friend of mine in the music industry:
ME: hey, i was wondering if you had any kind of bio or one-sheet for SMD?
Guy: i'm trying to get them to write one...
Me: i'd like to post something but i don't really know that much about them
Guy: they're super busy at the moment though - i will try to get you something today... even if i have to make it all up...
Me: ha!
Guy: "2 guys from the wrong side of the village" - might go for a rural theme. influences include ELO, PiL and CUSM. [I like this, acronym bands!]
Me: right on - i'd love to mention them coming to nyc [at the end of July], putting out at 7" soon [in about a month on the London indie 'Click Click Bang! records], etc. and the upcoming album [which I've heard all of, but some of the songs are being reworked a bit before they put it out].
So, who are these cats and what do they do? Well, alls I know is that they're a couple of members (James Ellis Ford & James Anthony Shaw) of the band Simian, who've gone on to make crazy awesome dancey music. They've put out a very select handful of records, including a song on the latest Kitsune compilation (all of the Kitsune stuff has been really top quality and I reccomend X highly). Their other strong suit is remixes - their remix of Air's "Cherry Blossom Girl" is absolutely amazing - suposedly they've recently done a remix of Lady Sovereign that I'm hearing is quite sick too.
Also be on the lookout for a SMD mixtape that will show up soon in a handful of better indie shops in NYC, LA and London. Their last one, a promo for Cornerstone from 2003, was good, but I didn't realize their potential until hearing some of their newer songs... the album is really quite awesome, with songs that are fun and funny, quirky and over-all dance-able. Unfortunately I haven't been able to squeeze a release-date out of my friend, but I'd expect to see the full-length this summer or early fall. What do you-all think?
