direct from cybertron

German? Check.
Strange cover songs? Check.
Made mostly from the bleeps and buzzes of household electronics? Check.

How can you possibly go wrong with all that?

My thursday morning has been brightened by Transformer Di Roboter and their weird little electronic songs which I discovered via a Music Thing post about the origins of the Mac startup sound which linked to TdR's cover of Stranger In Moscow which uses it for its bassline.

The other tracks available for download on their site are worth checking out too:

Check out their online store for your fix of strange german electronic pop.

I highly recommend finding Planet Mu Criminal '02 which has 2 tracks on it. A Beach Boys medley of 'Do It Again' and 'I Get Around' in full on Germanic doom. Followed by a possessed by The Aluminum Group cover 'Enter Sandman'. They are either musical geniuses or "Weird Al" for the 21st century.
