Music For Robots Vol. 1

It's finally here. Our labor of love. It's a beautiful project and we're tremendously proud to bring it to you.

Music For Robots Vol. 1 is our first compilation album, combining some of our favorite bands and some new friends for an absolutely incredible listen. You know us here at robots. We're not about making money, we're not about selling out. We're about spreading good music by any mean's necessary. We worked hand in hand with these artists to put the compilation together and we sincerely hope you like it.

There are only 1,000 copies of this CD, and there were a bunch of them sold at the show last night, so you'll have to act fast if you want one. All of the songs are exclusive to us in some way, and while some names might not be familiar, we can gaurantee that there is something for everyone on here.

Ascender Studio designed a gorgeous six-panel digipack for us. The CD, from content to packaging, it just awesome.

You can purchase the album on the sidebar to the right. The price includes shipping (10$ for domestic buyers, 14$ for international orders). Purchase via Paypal. It's fast and easy. We'll have our Tee-Shirts up for order shortly.

Here is the complete tracklisting:

1. El Ten Eleven - A Watched Pot
2. Stiffed - "A Day With Andrew"
3. Mini Repertoire vs. Deadelus remix feat. Busdriver - "Cat Whiskers"
4. Stratageme - "Mrs. Rational"
5. Bumblebeez81 - "Cowboy Song"
6. Death From Above 1979 - "Little Girl" (MSTRKRFT Remix)
7. Seems So Bright - "Numbers"
8. David Brusie - "Understood"
9. Hysterics - "Potato Famine"
10. Subtle - "I heart LA two"
11. Mae-shi - "Potential"
12. Haywood - "Mermaid"
13. The Subjects - "Saginaw"
14. The National - "High Beams"
15. APSCI (feat. Mr. Lif) - "See That"
16. Avenue D - "Just Keep Dancing"
17. The Presets - "Truth & Lies"
18. Shush Shush - "How to Lie"

does Canada count as "international" in terms of ordering? or are we domestic because we're in north america?

I can't wait until other mp3 blogs review this compilation and post tracks.

Posted by: Anthony at May 28, 2005 10:38 PM

surely they should give a few songs away for free!?!?

isn't that what music blogs do these days!?!?!?

Posted by: prancehall at May 29, 2005 08:40 PM

prancehall - a bunch of these tracks were available previously as MP3's on MFR, however those versions were often demos, and these have been re-recorded and mastered. if you'd like to review the posts, search by band name in the search box.

Sorry I am new to this blog - read a very interesting article about this in IHT (where I heaed about it). I wanted to know is it possible to hear samples of the songs? Also can I buy it and dowload the music instead of buying the CD?

Thanks.

I host The AM/FM Show on WMUH (since 2002) and Galactic Travels on WDIY (since 1997). Both stations serve the Allentown, Pennsylvania area via traditional FM transmissions and the Internet with live streaming of their air signals.

I play unsigned artists (as well as signed artists) and would appreciate a copy of Music for Robots Vol. 1 for airplay. Please send to:

is there a mfr radio station? and more importantly, is it online?

Posted by: b-rad at October 15, 2005 05:27 PM

nice music

Posted by: Ruckus at February 8, 2006 04:31 PM

As "music for robots" was Suction record's credo, at first i thought this was related, esp because of the cover art.
This comp looks interesting based on the rock bands I know on there (tho' Ave D sure aren't a rock band!), but I usually think of "robots" = "machine music".... you know, Kraftwerk kinds of jams.

I ordered mine about a week ago. What is the expected time of arrival usually? 4-6 weeks or less?

Posted by: JHuff at March 10, 2006 07:59 PM
