Friday Video Fun

Ural 13 Diktators

My knowledge of this band, the Ural 13 Diktators, is extremely limited. But whatever, maybe one of you guys can fill me in. All I know is that they're finnish, which is great. Also, their video is awesome. It's the same 8-bit graphics of like a Double Dragon or whatever, and it's a great little love story.

So if you've got five minutes to burn, watch this thing. Then tell me who the band is. I mean, the song is mediocre, but I'd just like to know. Thanks!

I've been a big fan of Ural 13 Diktators for a few years now. They're one of the most consistently great electro-techno-wave acts around. They also do the slightly-kitschy-but-still-credible thing very well. Check out the "Disko Kings" 12" on the Lasergun label.

Video was done by a company called Lobo. It's quite old. They happen to rock, though. http://www.lobo.cx

the song is great. mediocre is the hysterics band this site keeps trying to sell to us

dot bot, i've got to disagree with you here. sure the Hysterics have a long way to go, but guess what those kids are only half way through high school. the video for Name of the Game is so much better than the song which stylistically has been done so many times and better. anyway, i can't even discern what the song here is about, or how it fits the story line of the video.
