General Elektriks - Tu M'intrigues

some of y'all might remember a great post that Morex had a while back (I can't find a URL), touting a collaboration between a funky french group called General Elektriks and the infamous Lateef the Truthspeaker, half of Latyrx and Quannum artist. might have been foreshadowing - Quannum (peep the great Kozy n' Dan artwork!) has brought G.E. to the US, and their album Clickety Kliqk should hit shelves on August 27 [preorder it]. The cuts I've heard have been fantastic, with jazz-infused tracks melting into the beat structures and dusty samples stirred in for a rich flavor. the style is consistent with what you'd expect from Quannum, and this track stands as a production masterpiece alongside some of the favorites in my collection. don't sleep on this one when it comes out.

Heh! I remember that post! That was way back in the eaaarly daze of this whole mp3 blogging phenom. Here's a link to my commentary; the mp3 is long gone, of course. Good to know the record's finally coming out in the US!

in fact their name is General Electrics (no k), they come from my hometown :)I got the album for quite a while (more than 1 year) and it's very good...
