Hey! Ok!

The Gaskets
The Gaskets - Eiffel Tower (rough edit)

It's been several months since I last posted about the Gaskets -- Virginia's favorite band. I think it was back in October or something. In the interim, the boys have been deep in the studio, coming up with some good music. At first I wasn't interested in this track, but then it kept coming up on my iTunes and I'd always go see what it was. I'm always glad to give a song a second chance, and I'm glad I did. The song has a great intro, fun lyrics, and really doesn't sound like much else out there right now. Well, it sounds different enough to still be interesting. Keep in mind that this is just a rough mix, but the boys are playing in NYC coming up, so it was time for an update.

According to Ted, from the band, they'll be playing on July 4th at Arlene's Grocery on Stanton. Sounds awesome to me. I think they'll be up there with Punk Rock Karaoke, which is always a blast. They'll be back again to the same spot on July 22nd, so keep an eye out.

The band is still mixing/recording the record, which should be out sometime in September. I'll keep you posted.

Comments

They're really one of the best bands around the Richmond area that I've found of late. There's a period in Eiffel Tower that reminds me strongly of The Go! Team and I sort of dig it.
