Boom Bap Project feat. Gift of Gab - Wyle Out
the pacific northwest is officially on the map these days. while the Lifesavas might have been the first artist to trickle all the way down to the right coast, Portland, Seattle, even BC are starting to produce with quality and consistency reminiscent of Oakland in the early 90's. maybe it's the rain, maybe it's still an apology for grunge, maybe it's the coffee. but Seattle has given us the Boom Bap Project, and they in turn have given us quality.
almost all of their current LP, Reprogram is produced by Vitamin D and Jake One, and their dedication to preserving a true-to-the-roots vision of hip-hop is reflected by the outside talent that has contributed to this project: Dilated Peoples, DJ Vinroc, Grayskul, Blackalicious, and the aforementioned Lifesavas in addition to Mr. Hill & Jumbo the Garbageman on production guest spots. the ryhmes are tight, the diction meticulous, and the message totally focused on the music.
the album is out now on Rhymesayers, and you can [order it direct from their site] with a free autographed poster!
