I Roll With It

thanks for asking
"Tirade Highway (Its Her Factory)" by APSCI vs Gang Of Four

Okay, just a quick Saturday post again, as its a nice day outside and I want to go run around in the city.

For those of you who have been following along, you know APSCI and MFR have been working together for a while, and they appear on MFR Vol. 1 - well, this mashup is straight from the band, and I think its some hot shit, combining what I believe will be their new single with Gang Of Four's classic "Its Her Factory."

Their full-length album, Thanks For Asking, finally dropped on Quannum this last Tuesday, and I can tell you it is a trip.

With crazy good programming to back the vocal dexterity of Dana (the classically trained former opera-singer Aussie) and Ra's rhymes - Ra produced most of the album, but he's also joined by beatboxer Guy Licata, DJ Big Wiz (resident Def Jux DJ), and DJ Boo (Jugganots) - the album is intense. On the vocal tip, the album also features Mr. Lif, Tunde of TV on the Radio, Martin of Antibalas, and Quannum label-mates VURSATYL of Lifesavas and Pigeon John. Solid stuff.

Also, for those of you in the dirty Big City, APSCI are doing a Monday-night residency at Pianos in the lower east side - I'm not sure what kind of madness they're gonna get up to, but since this Monday is the first, be sure to roll through and check out the scene.

Many thanks Blair. Word is that there'll be a special guest MC from the Quannum crew there on Monday night whose name rhymes with Drift of Crab. But you didn't hear that from me.

Check the last paragraph.

I think this mash-up was pulled off well. And apparently I wasn't the only one with the idea....
