Jealous of the Way You Move

Biirdie!Biirdie - Open Letter to Jenny.

Sometimes you need the indie piano waltz with the fuzzy-ball synth bass. Sometimes it just works. It's a fun little song, with good lyrical twists and interesting enough instrumentation to keep things interesting and not devolving too much into Oberst territory (something that Biirdie skates close to on some tracks).

I don't know a whole lot about Biirdie, expect that they were smart enough to add the third "i" in their name to help with any google troubles. The album was actually recorded right here in Los Feliz and Glendale, which is pretty cool. It's about love and distance and Hollywood and Florida and all that. There's a lot to it.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for that "Oom Pah" vibe. Maybe I'm just down with the male/female harmony vocals. Who knows. Either way, I'm a fan. You should check out their record Morning Kills the Dark. It's already been released, and you can pick it up from their site for cheap. Recommended.

These guys (and girl) are incredible live! I've seen them just destroy rooms with like 20 people in them on two occasions.

This song is about Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley, in case you didn't know.
