A set of bangers

french and funky

Dark Side Of The Gooom Mix by Dopplebanger

Its Friday evening, and if you're anything like me and live on the east coast its probably around the time that you're getting home from work, and maybe you're thinking about making some dinner, maybe you're considering whether or not you're going to go out tonight...

Well, here's an amazing mixtape for you to put on and totally freak out to, courtesey of France's Dopplebanger, a longtime contender for the best mashups around. Dopplebanger is part of the Paris-based band Cosmodrome, who produced the Avenue D track on MFR Vol. 1. Well, Cosmodrome's new album will be out soon on Gooom (home to, among others, robot favorites M83)... well, the label asked Dopplebanger to put together a mix for them, which uses Gooom-artist instrumentals and dope-ass hip-hop a capellas that are so expertly put together, they all sound completely natural.

Oh, and it is, as the artist's name may suggest, bangin'

Tracklist? Sure thing gang, here 'tis:

01. Gel: (remixed by Abstrackt Keal Agram) vs Kelis (feat. Nas) – Thug Nerves
02. Abstrackt Keal Agram vs Eminem – Audio Crash Yourself
03. KG vs Jay-Z – Dirt Off Your Spectre
04. Abstrackt Keal Agram vs Terror Squad (feat. Mase & Eminem) – Nato Leans Back
05. M83 vs Beyoncι vs 50 Cent – Unrecorded Love
06. M83 vs Aphex Twin vs Khia – Pussylicker
07. Villeneuve (remixed by Convol) vs Christina Aguilera – Genie in a Carrousel
08. M83 vs Missy Elliott (feat. Ludacris) – Slow Gossips
09. M83 (remixed by Boom Bip) vs Miss Kittin – Requiem for a Flame
10. Villeneuve (feat. M83) vs Twista – Look at my Celebrity
11. Purple Confusion vs Ol’ Dirty Bastard – Dreaming of Your Money
12. Mils vs DJ Hell vs Sweet Pussy Pauline – Work That Copo
13. Kids Indestructible (remixed by M83) vs Olive – Alone on the Trans-Penine Express
14. Montag & DJ Yoeri – Figures of a New Cocaine

If this mix doesn't get you in the mood to party and out of the house, I don't know what would.

Enjoy and happy weekend!

In related news, Avenue D have a show out in Los Angeles tonight, at Hollywood's Key Club - the night's insanity also features Ming and Ping and Secret Society of the Sonic Six, so if you're lucky enough to live in LA, hit that up.
