in case you like your sauce mild

Señor Coconut Presents: Vanessinha & Alessandra - Gira

Boomboxes, Boobies and Baile funk. Three of my favorite B's, brought to us by one of my favorite C's: the super-kooky Uwe Schmidt, a.k.a. Atom Heart, a.k.a. Señor Coconut. He's covered Kraftwerk, salsa-swing style on El Baile Aleman [downlaod from iTunes], and has made plenty of latin-influenced electronic music since moving to Chile from his native Germany. His newest compilation, Coconut FM, is now available from Essay Recordings in the US [order it from Amazon.com], and gives you a thick slice of Latin party jams in all genres, from personal favorite-o-the-month Funk Carioca (yay!) to Reggaeton (boo!) and so on. Enjoy!

I just recorded a set by Senor Coconut which consisted of a lot of musical goodies - a totally Latin-pumped version of Manteca (the jazz tune by Dizzy Gillespie), and a really really great acid (303 i mean) version of El Manicero. Is this the same kind of diversity?

loved the album cover. between downloading this track and the "She's Crafty" iTunes Scandel, there's a lot of big B's bouncing around this week.
