It's going to be a stellar year

Get Him Eat HimGet Him Eat Him - Exposure.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome myself back. It's been a long time, but I needed some rest away from the digital world. I spent much time unwired these past two weeks, and barely listened to any music. I wanted to give my ears a break, and come back fresh. There's a lot to look forward to in this new year. I'm not about to predict what the hot new records will be, but I feel like we're ready for something good. The musical landscape is definitely changing, and the industry is evolving. It's hard to keep track of, and I'm not always sure why music has such a tireless grip on our culture. But regardless, it's here.

So as part of all this, we have a track from Get Him Eat Him's new EP. It's been released on Catbird Records, which is run by Ryan, of The Catbirdseat site. He's been making amazing mixes for years now - long before any mp3 blogs (and back when Slatch was still doing their drinking stories). This is the fourth release so far from the label, and all of them are worth tracking down.

I posted Get Him Eat Him back in the fall, and their record was a nice surprise last year. This EP is definitely promising, and I've been told by the band that it gives a good idea of what to expect from their upcoming full-length. The EP, which will be released on the Sixth of January, coincides with their current tour. The track here is a wonderful piece of pop. There are great organ sounds, a nice guitar solo to kick things off, a solid backbeat behind it all. What more could you ask for? The rains are finally over here in LA, the sun is shining, and it's a new year. It's all coming together.

So, happy new year, thanks for reading, and I'm glad to be back.

Cheers.

A very good song indeed...thank you! I can't help but be reminded of the super sweet 'Melrose Place Theme Song' when listening to the main lead guitar riff.

Heard these guys in Charlottesville, VA at The Twisted Branch. Their live performance was a little sketchy, persistent feedback and muffled vocals. In spite of that, good display of upbeat synthy pop songs. Wished that they were playing in a smidge larger venue, probably would have had some feet moving. Personally, I let it all out for their cover of "Heart of Glass".
