Rest In Peace, Jay Dilla
Thanks for everything, Mr. Yancey.

This is so tragic, but if anything, now is the time to celebrate all the great music he left behind:
Common- Like Water for Chocolate/Be
D'Angelo- Voodoo
Slum Village
Fantastic Vol. 1 & 2
and on and on
Every beatmaker, especially in LA, has been so deeply influenced by Dilla that his legacy will definitely live on in.

Posted by: Michael Danziger at February 10, 2006 10:33 PMdamn thats sad,
anyone know what happened?
from what i've read, he had been having kidney problems for a long time, from malnourishment, even performing in a wheelchair. i guess it just finally caught up with him, three days after his 32nd birthday...
it's too sad
Maybe it's my hangover, but this just feels tragic. What a talented artist, and to go out right after his album drops. Damn.
Posted by: lip at February 11, 2006 11:23 AMUnreal. Donuts is so classic. Rumor had it most of it was done from a hospital bed. May he rest in peace. A true loss.
