It Feels Good
Man, I am pooped! This week has just been dragging on, so I'm super excited tomorrow is Friday. To get you in the mood for Friday and the rest of the weekend I wanted you to hear this new track from my man Ulysses. You may remember Ulysses from some of my earlier posts, here, and here from way back when.* Anyway, Ulysses' productions are great, and he is known to make some nasty, shut-up-and-dance-type tunes, and this song, from the Make You Feel Good EP, is a nice example of his production skills, showcasing his melodic sensibilities, and its got a slick vocal to it, courtesey of Nicklcat (aka Nick Hallett).
The record was released by MBF (My Best Friend) Records, a sublabel of Germany's Traum, which falls under the umbrella of the Kompakt empire. "Make You" is available to buy via mail-order direct from Kompakt, from Juno, Satellite Records, or from your local indie dance music retailer. It is available to download from Komkakt-MP3. You can also download some of Ulysses' other work from iTunes.
Ulysses will be performing here in the city soon, first under one of his pseudonyms, Neurotic Drum Band - that's this Friday, February 17 at APT (419 W13th St.) - then he's got a DJ gig at Nublu (62 Ave C) on March 24th. *NB: it is worth noting that I called his kap10kurt remix an "electro-house" song, since this is from July of 2004, well before the term had really caught on - Booya!
