I Want Everybody Up Outta Their Seats

Rest in Peace, King FloydKing Floyd - Do Your Feeling.

I don't have a whole lot to say here, except that I love King Floyd's records, and this track in particular has been a staple in my rotation for years now. It's great production, great energy, and a great record. Obviously his hit was "Groove Me," but this one will always have a special place in my heart.

He never had the notority of the Sam Cookes and Otis Reddings, despite having that killer voice and nasty hooks. I guess some dudes are meant to be kinda unsung, ya know? I think his singles stand along any of the greats, but maybe that's just me. The internet isn't exactly abuzz with chatter after his death, ya know?

So rest in peace, King Floyd. You'll be missed.

Great post. And I'm sorry to be one who's late to the King Floyd party--"Groove Me" is just dandy, but only now, after his death, have I been hearing the depth of his catalog. Thanks for continuing our education.
