A birthday present:

To celebrate MFR's 2nd birthday, I decided to make another mix for all of you.

MFR 2nd Birthday Mix = very synthy, with lots of new records and a couple of older favorites. Far from perfect, but, besides a couple of exceptions, mostly decent transitions - regardless of any of this, hopefully it is fun to listen to. I've got a big party brewing for May that I'll fill you in on shortly... anyway, I hope you enjoy the mix.

Tracklist after the jump...

Artist - Song - Label

Unsound - Devote Yourself To A Lost Cause - Moshi Moshi Music
Bell X1 - Flame (Chicken Lips Mix) - Island Records UK
Plant Life - Last Song (Chicken Lips Dub) - Gut Records
Lindstrom - I Feel Space - Playhouse
Goldfrapp - Ride A White Horse (FK Disco Whores Dub) - Mute Records
Hot Chip - Over And Over (Solid Groove Remix) - Astralwerks
Trentemøller - Minimal Fox - Poker Flat
WhoMadeWho - Out The Door (Superdiscount Remix) - Gomma
DJ T - Rave D'Amour - Get Physical
Tiga - Good As Gold - PIAS
Chelonis R. Jones - Le Bateau Ivre (The Fairy Dub Mix) - Get Physical
Spankrock - Sweet Talk (Kalabata Remix) - Big Dada
Daft Punk - Technologic (Digitalism RMX) - Virgin France
Tiefschwarz - The Fly - Four Music
Revl9n - Walking Machine (Simian Mobile Disco Efficiency Remix) - Because Music
Cut Copy - Going Nowhere (SebastiAn Remix) - Modular Recordings
Tahiti 80 - Big Day - Atmospheriques

By the way, this mix is all viny, and was recorded to a USB flash-drive via this new device called the iKey, made by Gemini - its a simple audio-recording-interface with RCA inputs on one end and a USB plug on the other that you can use to record any line-level input out to any USB based device (flash drive, USB hard drive, or even your iPod). Its super easy to use, records to full-quality WAV or MP3 (in 128kbps, 196kbps, and 256kbps); it has simple display lights to show how much space you have left available on the device, and can be powered by an AC adaptor or batteries. If you want something really easy to use for ripping vinyl or recording DJ sets (or recording a band's set from the mixing board if you know the sound-guy), the iKey is a pretty good solution.

Keep them coming.

Absolutely flawless mix. I hope mfr goes on forever and ever.

@bobby: If you like the songs so much, why not buy the records?

Yes Dude, this music is GAY - it likes to have sex with other men! Amazing right?!?!?

And Tyrant, thanks for pointing out the obvious: IT IS true! New York does have terrible taste in music!

another job well done. don't let haters keep us from the jack.

Does homophobia get tossed around a lot here? Rip it up and start again, Connolly. The Robots gone populist.

link is down : [ hi from delaware

Posted by: Dan at April 16, 2006 10:24 PM

um, the Irish robot ain't have nothing to do with any of the above comments. Not sure why the Connolly's are getting called out. Maybe it's the five-seashell thing.

The robots ain't gone anything, and homophobia only gets flung by turdmuffins like "dude" above. If only people would realize it's okay to like dance music without being all homophobic about it (case and point), then we'd all just have a good time getting down.

P.S. Delaware - the link is fixed. Spinto Band?

Posted by: jp at April 17, 2006 10:36 PM

Robot Blair, I love your gay homosexual music! Always have, always will.

Now, if only you were gay....

Only kidding (somewhat). In all seriousness, congratu-fucking-lations on MFR's big number TWO stylee. You're still rockin' it!

Much love,
Mr. Justin
