When the needle hit the wax, there was no turning back

I am the biggest sucker in the world for a good singalong. You know those moments on live albums when the singer pulls a "Now you do it!" and points his microphone to the crowd, and everyone in the audience sings, like, the "na na na" ending to Hey Jude as one big, bad, poorly arranged choir? Yeah, I love that shit. It's a weakness, I know.
Stook's real name is Joshua Stuckey. He just put out a rock 'n' roll/country record called The Soundtrack To My Minneapolis, which is just lots of fun. If you're looking for hip, ground-breaking music, I'm afraid this isn't it. In fact, so-called "alt-country" just isn't anywhere near cool anymore, but that almost makes this record cool to me.
And it's fun to hear a CD that takes this raucous an approach to something; it has a ramschackle, Midwestern feel to it, like the Replacements wearing cowboy hats.
Stook - A Song Is More Than Just A Song.
It's just kind of ridiculous, isn't it? It closes out the record, and I think it's perfect for that. The whole record is pretty much like this track, save for a couple of quieter ones near the end. If you like "A Song Is More Than Just A Song," you should buy The Soundtrack To My Minneapolis, which you can do here.
