The Streets: Day 5

fake hats?

The Streets - Fake Streets Hats video commentary (zipped Quicktime Movie)

OK, so here we are, with Mr. Skinner's thoughts on the last track on his new album, The Hardest Way To Earn An Easy Living - yes, I know some of you are tired of all this Streets foolery, but hey, in the process, maybe you learned something about this guy that you didn't know before. Maybe you see he's a good guy at heart, who's out there, trying to make himself heard in the best way he knows how... or maybe you just don't care.

Either way, besides the fact that I think the Streets is worth spending some time learning more about (and if you hit Lemon-Red, you can learn something about "Two Nations" - the song that was supposed to be a duet with Biggie. No seriously), the real excitement, and one of the biggest reasons I was really happy to run this video series all week long, was getting to give away two passes for the Intonation Festival in June, because I love giving stuff away here on MFR. I really, really do.

And the Intonation Festival passes winner is??!?!?

Patrick, what can I say buddy, but that you're a winner! And you're hilarious.

We now return to our regularly scheduled robot programming...

I tried downloading the Fake Streets Hats.zip file and the unarchiving utility in Mac OSX says it's corrupted. Anyone else having a problem?

Mo (and anyone else who's interested in seeing this clip but is having problems) you can download it HERE

ok...so i have to admit that the streets were one of those bands that i kept hearing about but never took the time to check out. seeing all this coverage drove me to actually do something about my curiosity, and i'm so glad that i did. they are worth the wait...and entering rotation in my ipod.

If you wanna check him out live you can try to win free tickets through some store Brooklyn Industries. It was the only way to catch him in NY as far as i could find.
