Lilacs all aglow

Jolie Holland has officially released the best-named record of 2006: Springtime Can Kill You. It's true, too; in the past few weeks I've suffered from massive overstimulation resulting from the miraculous above-50 temperatures in Minnesota. My body's all screwy-like.
Jolie Holland's voice could probably cure disease if scientists figured out a way to properly bottle it. It's not a Neko Case-like "holy hell, what's that?!" kind of voice, it's more subtle and ... well, for lack of a better word, soothing.
And I keep putting this song on repeat this morning, because it's doing me a world of good:
Jolie Holland - Springtime Can Kill You.
The Anti Records website (where this track was originally posted) calls Holland's record "a 12 track song-cycle—a crossroads where haunting meets joyful—a voice from the heavens singing stories of the underworld." Uh, sure. I haven't heard it, I've only heard the title track, but I'm willing to believe it.
She's got a couple other (great) records under her belt - Catalpa, Escondida, and a couple as part of the group The Be-Good Tanyas.
