PSA: Need New Singer Edition

Everyone who knows me knows that I'm big mae-shi fan. Heartbeeps was one of my favorite records from last year, and I love their live show. So it's weird to see that they're looking for a new lead singer.

Here's a little blurb from the band:

About two months ago, Ezra left the band. Since then, he's moved up to Berkeley to concentrate on his job with Buchla Inc. and his other band, Gowns. As for the split: Ezra was our friend before being in a band with us, and he's going to be our friend now too. We wish him the best of luck and are happy for him.

The rest of us got together and realized we like making music together and still have more we want to do with the band. We proceeded to write a ton of songs together, and we're shooting to have an album finished by this summer.

And so we are looking for a new singer for the band. We're not looking for someone to replace Ezra -- we're looking for someone that can add his or her own thing and help us move in a new direction. Someone who is interested in songwriting, particularly writing lyrics and melodies and taking songs we've recorded and helping us "organize" them.

So that's interesting, right? You can click that link up there and submit your own versions of their new songs if you're down. It'd probably be easier if you're in the LA area, but I'm sure they're open to anyone who's seriously interested.

Obviously Ezra will be a hard act to follow, but the dudes in the band are fucking sick musicians, so I'm sure it'll be rad whatever happens. Also, you can check out Ezra's new band here.
