Basteroid - Meteorchester

Back in action mid-Monday with a quickie techno post.

Basteroid is one of Areal Records stand-by artists, and his work is consistently great. Basteroid's real name is Sebastian Riedl and he helped form Areal with his friends Matthias Klein (Konfekt) and Michael Schwanen (Metope) in 2000. Together, in a few short years they've managed to make the label a standout in the Köln scene, and in the techno world in general. My first exposure to them was late in 2004, with Ada's landmark full-length record Blondie.

Anywho, this 12" is yet another great Areal release - the A-side (this track) is a huge monster of a tech-house song that just gets bigger and bigger, like a bloodthirsty robot gone haywire - huge, driving synths, keys, crunching drums, massive bass - I love it. Love it! The B-side is also a solid, shuffling, slow burner. Strongly recommended.

Buy Meteorchester from our friends at Forced Exposure (US) or direct from Areal's distributor, the mighty mighty rulers of Köln, Kompakt via mailorder or high quality MP3's at Kompakt MP3-net.

Huge.

Amen Jason, that organ is straight up sweet! I like my techno playful and lively. This track's got it all. Great track Blair!

Great track. Sick synth sounds. Thanks for posting. Way better than anything Avenue D will ever do.
