screw this mud pit, let's hit the beach

They're baaaaaaaack....
By know, we're all aware of the long history the Hysterics have with MFR, but it is worth noting (again) that these kids are completely under their own steam. They keep making amazing music, and sharing a chunk of it with us, and we in turn are happy to share it with you. This song especially, because it might find a home on the iPods of some of our older listeners who didn't have the same initial screaming-15-year-old-girl reaction to Hysterics that thouse thousands of, well, screaming 15 year old girls did after the MTV piece went on the air. In short, if I haven't convinced you by now, hopefully this will help drive the nail in the coffin to convince all (or at least most) MFR readers that kid music ain't a cute fluke, it's the zero point for a potentially far-reaching trajectory.
Yes, it's that Do It Again. What are a bunch of Brooklyn kids doing singing about the beach, you may ask? While Coney Island is quite a jaunt from their homes, the four (now six) kids in Hysterics are quite clearly not done growing musically. The stark differences between how many well-understood musical influences these kids have at this age and what I (and, come on, be honest, most of us) had still blow my mind: I didn't hear music until I was almost 13, and one of the first things was a tape my dad had in his old red Mazda of I Get Around; they started cranking it out at about the same age, and now only a handful of months later they're releasing airwave-ready homages to some of the 20th Century's most essential music.
Best of all, Hysterics have broken free of the internet eyesore and doppleganger breeding ground that is MySpace, and have launched their own website! Don't worry, there's a link their back to their MySpace page, but it contains all the info you'll need on the band, and more music as well.
